    In paragraph 8 of his letter, Martin Luther King makes the claim of his letter clear when he writes the following: We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy, and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity.

    The effect Dr. Martin Luther King speech expresses a personal level because he describes the struggle of a man that is discriminated because of his race.To keep the audience locked onto the purpose of the speech which is to stop racial prejudice. The letter is to defends his strategy of nonviolent resistance to racism and oppression. He states that people have the moral responsibility to break unjust laws in a peaceful manner.     I would also add in the fact that it was written at that point in the letter to bring out an emotion in you. He said the problem, and now he is suggesting a solution to make you think about
