    you have a cone sitting on a cylinder surface area of the cone = pi* r^2 + pi* r *l surface area of a cylinder using only one base = area of base + lateral like a rectangle total area = + pi *r* l + pi* r^2 + 2 pi* r* h where r = radius l = slant height of cone and h = height of the cylinder

    to the nearest hundred means to 2 decimal places calculate to 3 places if the 3rd place is 5 or more add 1 to the 2nd decimal digit if the 3rd is less than 5 then drop
