drawing out the picture, hold on

3. anonymous

btw that is $3\sqrt{3}$

@phi

I'd really like to LEARN how to do this because I got an entire list of problems like this that I gotta solve, so if you could help me learn the concept I'd really appreciate that

@ganeshie8

7. anonymous

is it multiple choice

8. anonymous

yeppers

9. anonymous

9 3 4.5 6

10. anonymous

ok so this is a special triangle

11. anonymous

so the shorter leg would be 3

12. anonymous

How do I find that?

13. anonymous

hold on

14. anonymous

15. anonymous

16. anonymous

look at the left one

17. anonymous

okay sweet, so it's 30-60-90, and then from there we can know the side length?

18. anonymous

yeah just so u know the answer is not 3

19. anonymous

that helps us get there

20. anonymous

but do u know how to get the hypotenuse

21. anonymous

from knowing the 3, I think the hypotenuse is the 6 because of the pythagoreum (spelling) theorum

22. anonymous

only thing I'm confused on is finding the length of the second side

23. anonymous

yes but if you look at the pic it shows how to get the shorter side

24. anonymous

because 3 to the sqrt 3 makes the longer side you take away the sqrt 3 and you get left with what?

25. anonymous

3

26. anonymous

Oh I get it !!! Thank you!!!

27. anonymous

ok you can use that pic for more of those problems if you have more

28. anonymous

and then you multiply the shorter leg by 2 to get the hypotenuse

29. anonymous

yes I surely will. Thank you for your help
