How is the gerund phrase used in the sentence? My hobby is surfing every weekend. A. predicate nominative B. object of a preposition C. subject D. direct object I'm not exactly sure about this one.

    A. predicate nominative "is surfing every weekend" is the complete predicate and "surfing" is the nominative part of that complete predicate.
