## anonymous one year ago FLVS BLOWS SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TOO MEEEE!! What is the simplified form of the quantity of x plus 4, all over the quantity of 7 − the quantity of x plus 3, all over the quantity of x plus 5? (I will re-write with numbers shortly)

I know you need to make the denominator the same I got this far...|dw:1438737614751:dw|

3. phi

I would leave the bottom 7(x+5) but if you do multiply it out (i.e. distribute the 7) you get 7x+35 (not 7x+30)

Oh ok thanks so any idea how to subtract (x-3) from two binomials being multiplied together?

5. phi

also, the 2nd fraction should have been multiplied by 7/7 it should look like this $\frac{(x+4)(x+5)- 7(x+3)}{7(x+5)}$ now use FOIL to multiply (x+4)(x+5) up top also distribute the -7.... you get -7x-21

I HATE FLVS 2!!!

7. anonymous

x^2+9x+20-7x+21/7(x+5)

8. anonymous

-21*

9. phi

now combine "like terms"

omg I got one of the answers ty sooo much!!! (so much better then flvs)

11. phi

It really isn't "simplified form" (whatever that means) but it is one fraction.
