## anonymous one year ago Determine if the graph is symmetric about the x-axis, the y-axis, or the origin. r = -5 - 5 cos θ

i just need to know where it falls on the axis

the long way is to put it into rectangular $$\sqrt{x^2 + y^2} = - 5 - \frac{5x}{\sqrt{x^2 + y^2}}$$ and create a function\locus in x,y: $$f(x,y) = [...] = 0$$ which you then test for $$f(x,y) = f(-x,y)$$ and $$f(x,y) = f(x,-y)$$
