    b is not because hydrogen and Helium sink. c is not because thermosphere is the outer layer. d is not because Nitrogen and Oxygen are heavy, so they will sink

    Well, a good way to start is by figuring out the root. "Thermo" means that it's related to heat. Given that information, we can eliminate C because heat is caused by more particles colliding with each other. The Thermosphere is between the Exosphere and Mesosphere, which means it's not B. The upper thermosphere primarily contains oxygen, nitrogen, and helium. As helium is in the upper atmosphere, it means that the answer cannot be D, because D states that helium is in the bottom. All this being said, your answer should be C
