You are helping your dad build a dog house for your dog. You tell him that it would be easy to build a dog house in the shape of a tent. The slanted sides are 13 feet long and the bottom of the house is 24 feet across. You draw him the following illustration to help him find the height of the dog house. What do you tell him the height of the dog house is?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Okay, so a equals the missing leg which is the height of the tent. Just plug in b and c. b = 12 and c = 13 into the Pythagorean theorem. Once you receive the solution to b^2 and c^2, subtract b^2 from c^2. That will be the a^2. Square root a^2 to receive the height of the dog house.
