The boiling of ethanol is 78C at the boiling point there is a phase change from liquid to gas. The enthalpy change for this process is. Positive intermolecular forces are being overcome Positive because intramolecular forces are being overcome. Negative intermolecular forces are being overcome Negative because intramolecular forces are being overcome

positive as intermolecular forces decrease and dis orderness increases

I agree. Intramolecular = within the molecule, intermolecular = between molecules. so honestly intramolecular would be out. As for the energy l ---> g energy has to be absorbed as heat to cause the temperature to rise. so it has to be positive. intermolecular forces are being overcome as something goes from l-->g increase in entropy overall.

Heres the answer if you guys are interested: "since energy must be absorbed enthalpy must be positive, and its intermolecular"

I agree tooo !!!!!!!!!!! How i got the answer was this: Since it is going from liquid to gas it's pretty obvious the bonds should be broken . Bond breaking is endothermic hence the enthalpy change is positive. The broken bonds are intermolecular not intramolecular.
