A water tank has a mass of 2.43 kg when it is empty, and a mass of 54.2 kg when it is filled to a certain level. What is the mass of the water contained in the tank at this level

    The mass of 54.2 kg is the mass of the water AND the container. So subtract the mass of the empty tank from this amount to find the mass of just the water.
