Theres no such thing as an American because it doesn't make sense. People are only compensating for the fact that it's what they've been raised knowing. But isn't it necessary to seek truth? If China invaded France tomorrow and raped women and children, tortured, enslave, and mass murdered 99% of their ppl and then proclaimed that France was THEIR land and that THEY, the Chinese, are the REAL French people, how in the actual FUK does that make sense? They then started to complain about ppl not speaking Chinese in France and told immigrants to go back to their fukin country. How does this make sense? There is no such thing as an "American" unless you're NATIVE American. Otherwise, we're all just immigrants. We need to make America multicultural. Currently it benefits white people and their European cultural roots. Look at black americans. They're whole culture derives from European culture because they were enslaved and indoctrinated to their European slave master roots. @vera_ewing
the term American is a political tool just as any other nationality and even ethnicity. It serves to mobilize people to achieve an agenda.
u sure u want in on this nin? i'll go hard bruh. This is sociology.
achieve the agenda of imperialism and white hegemony
just as the term Asian or Asian American did not exist and a fairly new term to lump the different group of people with roots from the Asian continent into one.
An ethnic identification is NOT a political tool. It serves as a mean to produce an identity, adherence to a culture, shared history, common genetic roots, etc.
here's the trouble if we followed suit, let us say that more evidence mounted and provide us with ever great confidence that homo sapiens originated in Africa. Will everyone be wiling to say that he or she or it is an African?
Asia is a continent in which people in that continent identify themselves. A Native American just like an Asian can be from different regions but are still NATIVE AMERICAN. If you're Korean then you're still an ASIAN since you belong to that continent. You CANT be white and be american. ROFLLLLLLL you're just a European immigrant.
we're not talkin that far back.
that serves no purpose in this conversation. It only serves to compensate for an inferiority complex for not having an ethnic identity
I swear to god if you taking this long to reply and you only come up with a few sentences ima laugh cuz you having a hard time disputing what i said bruh ROFLLLLLLLLL
It's time america admits its wrongs and truly live for the "ideals" that it promotes. The ideals of equality and freedom for all ONLY applied to white ppl UNTIL the Civil Rights Movement. And even today racial inequality is prevalent. It's time white people admit their wrongs and we all move on. Enough with this bullpellet.
even ethnic identification has been used as a political tool as I was saying earlier, there is no strong division, boundary on the construction of ethnicity and nationality. The only one thing they have in common is THEY both ARE a communal IDENTITY. I am happy to exchange ideas. I can only provide from what I've gathered so far from studying the Nuer people of Sudan, The Tutsi and Hutus, the Hmong people, the disintegration of Yugoslavia, and pellet who knows what other stuff I've been made to study and write papers about.
or we can use examples here in the United States alone, that should be enough
Oh i know about the Nuer people from South Sudan you do realize that's totally different since they're a HOMOGENEOUS and COLLECTIVE people, unlike america.
but their history has been mangled up with others and I wanted to start with them since there were some pretty extensive papers about Sudan.
America is ranked as #1 as the MOST individualistic people in the world and within america black americans. And you and I both know america is nowhere near homogeneous. ROFL
Let's not bring impertinent ethnic peoples into this discussion since it's NOT relateable.
United States will provide a good way to observe how people view themselves as a group, subgroups, individuals, etc.
The only thing that's relateable with the South Sudanese Nuer tribe is that EVERYBODY especially white people are SEGMENTARY.
America is a bad example anyways stay on topic.
There is no such thing as an American and we should be MULTICULTURAL in america. NO MORE white hegemony and NO MORE unequal representation especially in the media.
I think it is, and I am not sure what the scope of your studies with the Nuer. Did you read beyond Evans-Pritchard's papers?
I wouldn't mind being labeled as a permanent immigrant instead of an "american." It's just wrong to call yourself something that you're not. Especially after raping their women and children, mass murdering 120 million and making even a holiday after it (Thanksgiving), torturing, enslaving and other atrocities.
No idea who that is and don't really care if it's going to justify injustice.
How can you cherry pick what you feel is right? How can you teach your child what's right and wrong yet JUSTIFY injustice. How can you live like that? I can't live a hypocritical fake as life like that man. wtf.... You're gonna teach your child that stealing and murdering is wrong yet JUSTIFY the rape and murder of MILLIONS? WTF kind of sh1t is that?
How can you even have all those gush good moments in life when it's in fact self-righteousness. Dude.... the biggest genocide in the HISTORY of mankind happened in the Americas. How can you justify this pellet? What if it happened to your people? Would you start caring then? This isn't right
injustice just like suffering exists go out and do something about it :)
How do you know i'm not? What r U going to do about it? As a white person don't you feel the need to correct the wrong that your people have done?
Instead of enjoying your privilege?
I cringe every time they make a joke about a Latina, Asian, or any non-white minority. Do you? Can you do quotidian things without worrying and stressing that you'll be judged for your skin color? Do you have to even worry about being stereotyped? Dude. If you're sitting behind your screen with a smirk on your face like "i don't really care i'm just going to enjoy it" YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM. Why teach your kids right and wrong if that's your attitude? You're a fake piece of sh1t if that's your attitude. Dishonorable.
Why put up a front with people as if youre a good person? Why not be real?
this ad-hominem is arousing me quite exhilaratingly
Not an ad-hominem i'm just makin an example
Look at some youtube videos by Adam Kokesh, I'm sure you'd love him, @yomamabf He supports the same things that you mentioned.
Hes a USMC vet, and against the statism and mentality today thats creating the notation of patriotism being like the die hard fans of a losing football team mentality being a problem, which I agree with. Other words, people being for the country who refuses to change their views drawn by the same central authority thats created slavery. Hes very interesting, huge fan.
oh i know of him but i thought he was pro-american?
Hes anti-government, not pro-american. hence, one video called "Patriotism is for b*tches".
I'm all about shutting down this "white american" culture that's not real ... I want true equality which means equal representation of all race and ethnic groups no more white and increasingly black american cultural monopoly in the media
it's not fair
oh yea i actually remember Adam from a chatroom when he was supporting Ron Paul lolol good guy
He had a longer beard like King Leonidas and he even yelled "THis is SPARTA!!!" for us hahahhaa
I agree. I'm not for any type of supremacy, for neither male or female, or anything, but I think more and more marketing projections should just be less for the rich white woman who wants her Avon makeup. Blame the media, and different companies honestly. There are people changing this, have you seen Tyra Bank's new makeup line? Shes doing what you're wishing more people would do, widen the audience to more than just the rich white woman. And yeah! Hes a huge Ron Paul fan! Oh my lord, you're talking about his AdamVsTheMan podcasts! I'm friends with his girlfriend on facebook! hahaha. hes great!
Hahaha yea i think he was promoting Ron Paul during his presidential campaign through web camera chats hes super cool
You know, sad to say, Tyra Banks does not have a social science education and some of the things she does actually perpetuates the status quo. Her heart is in the right place though definitely.
What do you mean, exactly? About the social science edu. I'm lost on her. And yeah hes super amazing, im trying to get him to come to my town. hes on the road right now. and he does less livestreams :(
Well everybody can do things that they feel is the right thing to do. Tyra Banks perpetuates western standards of beauty through her America's Top Model show and perpetuates things like the 1 drop rule or even the western culture she promotes through practice. She's on the right track but if she could take some classes in sociology and cultural anthropology she could make an effective change.
A lot of people may say "oh well but you can learn sociology and cultural anthropology on your own!" Well, not exactly. I thought the same way until I actually took courses in it and wow.... What a difference it makes being taught in an actual classroom with rigor. There are insights and contexts you can't learn through books and online reading materials. Some things you just need to learn through a professional.
I like that shes bringing out to "create your own beauty" with her makeup, which is her huge outline. And creating more of a variety for people. And you cant knock her for being a model, yknow? Shes been a model since she was 15. I remember modeling when I was 14 myself, you're kind of pressed on that kind of lifestyle in the western cultured style, since I'm in America. Not everyone takes classes in sociology though. I'm going to Full Sail soon to be a Game Designer, not much sociology in that, tbh. Sociology should be taught in highschools though, couldnt agree more. people should be learning and expanding on the concept of humans and different cultures. Highly lacked in today's education.
Honestly, being in highschool, I had huge rants on the lessons that minimized the natives. I know first hand, trust and believe. Huge papers just slamming the lesson and explaining how people can just be disgusted with the holocaust and the communist manifesto, but teach something just as bad, and call it education.
If my school taught me to use a condom at one point or another, I wouldnt have had so many pregnancy scares at 18. Shout out the Metro Atlanta schooling! They should always teach that. Why hinder that? @nincompoop
That was a great video, ohhhh my gooddd. i havent laughed that hard in a long time. I didnt have a clue that teachers could just give their personal view on homosexuality to children???
whoa.. this video got depressing really quick..
OKay the end made me feel better about life
The metaphors on women and sex honesty upset me.. like really.. how was this taught in schools??
this can not be true....
sadly its true all true
what is true
