Discuss the nature of patriarchy in early Indian societies. What is the Lawbook of Manu and how does it explain gender roles?

    Priests, warriors, and tribal chiefs were men. Only males could inherit property and preside over family rituals. Women had no public authority and did not receive a formal education like men did
