Okay so what you need to do first is to solve for y. To do this you must isolate the variable by adding 7 and subtracting 2x from both sides. You will end up with -y=-2x+7 Multiply both sides by -1 to isolate y y=2x-7 In order to have an equation be perpendicular to another you need to have the negative inverse of the other slope. y=-1/2x +1 I assume you forgot to paste 'd' because there is not the correct answer here.

The question is messed up. You can see yourself by plugging in '4' for every x and seeing that none of them equal -1.
