    Hello! @mmazach ! Welcome To OpenStudy! Of the following, i am quite confident that SiO2 is the answer. It is mainly obtained from quartz

    yeah I agree too ! Brittle materials are the ones which doesn't have plastic deformation . It breaks when a small stress is given. Brittle materials absorb relatively little energy prior to fracture, even those of high strength.
