What is the simple way to permanently get rid of an unwanted file?

    A: cancel the file B:Erase the file and save an empty file over the original C:go to the start menu and then delete the file C: send it to the recycle bin then empty the recycle bin

    you do not require to empty the recycle bin if you can permanently delete the moment you delete the file from the beginning. that is to say that it does not go to recycle bin for potential retrieval
