Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0look for the LCD! Since you don't know what x is, you can just use any common denominator. One would be (x + 2)(x 4): (2x + 3)/(x 4) (x 5)/(x + 2) (2x + 3)(x + 2)/(x + 2)(x 4) (x 5)(x 4)/(x + 2)(x 4) [(2x + 3)(x + 2) (x 5)(x 4)] / (x + 2)(x 4) now expand the numerator(s): [(2x² + 4x + 3x + 6) (x² 4x + 2x 8)] / (x + 2)(x 4) (2x² + 4x + 3x + 6 x² + 4x 2x + 8) / (x + 2)(x 4) organize: (2x² x² + 4x + 3x + 4x 2x + 6 + 8) / (x + 2)(x 4) (x² + 9x + 14) / (x + 2)(x 4) (x + 7)(x + 2) / (x + 2)(x 4) cancel out (x + 2) Answer: (x + 7) / (x 4)
