    Fishes belong to division Gnathosome and Cyclostomata is a class belonging to division agnatha. What's the characters of agnatha? • Jaws are absent in these and hence are considered as lowest grade of vertebrates. • Paired fins are absent (but they do have fins) • Body is devoid of scales • They have gills but lack operculum (gill cover) Since, both cyclostomata and Pisces belong to eurochordate, they both have dorsal backbones.
