it's a 30-60-90 triangle so you should be able to list the 3 sides

do i have to do this method? or is there a faster way? |dw:1439927427360:dw|

yes, unless you "memorize" 1/sqr(3) = sqr(3)/3
phi
  • phi
but it does not take too long 6 + 6/sqr(3) + 12/sqr(3) 6+ 6 sqr(3)/3 + 12 sqr(3)/3 6+ 2 sqr(3) + 4 sqr(3) 6+ 6 sqr(3)

what do you call the long way? (or is this the long way) ?

hmmm okay then ill just stick to my method then

yea this is the long way
phi

the way you waste time is not noticing it's 30-60-90 and not being able to do the problem at all

ok gotcha

There isn't any faster way. You just have to do the math to find the length of the missing sides and add them all up.
