    When measuring length, it is important to use correct tools and units so that your results are better and more accurate. If the measurement is inaccurate, it is pointless. For instance, if you were going to build a table and you measured each leg using different objects, like, a string, a stick, a broom, etc. your results will most likely be inaccurate and the table will not sit leveled.
