What is the estimated sum? Round each addend to the nearest thousand before adding. 75,364 + 472,756

3. LynFran

first factor -1 we get$-(2x ^{3}-17x ^{2}+64)$$-(x-8)(2x ^{2}-x-8)$

4. anonymous

so x-8 is a factor?

5. LynFran

yep

thanks :)

well you can solve x-8 for x set it equal to 0$\rm x-8=0$ x=8 now substitute all x for 8 into f(x) if you get 0 then yes x-8 is a factor
