## anonymous one year ago HELP! I have no idea how to do this Let f(x) = x2 + x + 2 and g(x) = 2x2 + 5. Find f(g(x)). Show each step of your work

@Nnesha

3. Nnesha

okay so substitute all x for g(x) value into f(x) function $\rm f(\color{Red}{g(x)})$ does it make sense ?

4. anonymous

not really

5. Nnesha

alright $\huge\rm f(\color{ReD}{2x^2+5})=\color{Red}{x}^2+\color{red}{x}+2$ replace all x's with g(x) function which is 2x^2 +5

6. anonymous

so then i solve? sorry im trying to get this.

7. Nnesha

f(2x^2+5) is same as saying f(g(x))

8. anonymous

so the answer to this question is f(2x^2+5)??

9. Nnesha

yes right then solve and it's okay plz ask question if you didn' get it:) feel free!

11. Nnesha

yes after that you would get the answer $\huge\rm f(\color{Red}{g(x)})= (\color{Red}{2x^2+5})^2+(\color{Red}{2x^2+5})+\color{Red}{2}$

12. anonymous

oh! okay that makes sense thank you so much!!

13. Nnesha

my pleasure :=)

remember (2x2+5)^2 is same as (2x^2+5)(2x^2+5) foil it and then combine like terms :)
