SImply divide the exponent by 4, and find the remainder. In this case, the remainder is 2, and is the same is i^2 so the answer is just -1!

I'm KIDDING WITH YOU!!! Because it is pretty much a cycle. Every 4th power it just goes back to i, so you want to divide by 4 and find the remainder, and that is the real exponent that you should use.
