You can also use a proportion: 8 is to 3/5 as 10 is to x $$\dfrac{8}{\frac{3}{5}} = \dfrac{10}{x}$$ Cross multiply: $$8x = 10 \times \dfrac{3}{5}$$ Multiply both sides by $$\dfrac{1}{8}$$ $$x = 10 \times \dfrac{3}{5} \times \dfrac{1}{8}$$ Now just multiply it out and reduce.
