Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0the absolute value sign makes what is inside positive. we do this by 1) assume x+4 is positive. if it is, then we can drop the abs val sign x+4= 5 solve for x 2) assume (x+4) is negative. we know the will make it positive to make it positive we can multiply by 1 in other words 1*(x+4) will be positive, and we drop the solve 1*(x+4)= 5
