## anonymous one year ago Please help!!!!! MEDAL AND FAN!!!!! Referring to the Fig. in Question #8, segment AB and segment NM are diameters of circle E. Find the angle of arc MCB.

1. anonymous

This is the picture

2. Nnesha

|dw:1440603132208:dw| that straight line add up to 1180 degree right so if what would you add into 55+65 to get 180 ?

3. Nnesha

180**

4. anonymous

I would have to add 60 I think

5. Nnesha

you think? 65+60+55= 180 ?

6. anonymous

Yep..... because 55+65=120+60=180

7. Nnesha

|dw:1440603491506:dw| that middle angle is equal to arc length and remember circle add up to 360 degree

8. Nnesha

|dw:1440603622994:dw|

9. Nnesha

wait a sec...

10. anonymous

60+65=125 180-125=55 So it would be 55.....

11. Nnesha

ima thinking i'm trying to understand wht u did there haha

12. anonymous

Ok..... Just ignore what did lol. ^.^

13. Nnesha

|dw:1440604524391:dw| you need to all 4 angles and then subtract it from 360

14. anonymous

ok.....

15. anonymous

So... 360-235=125

16. anonymous

So 125 is the answer then, right?

17. Nnesha

18. anonymous

*face palm* I sorry

19. Nnesha

wait a sec sorry let m confirm it first sorry

20. anonymous

ok

21. Nnesha

i think BN= 65 degree and you r taking 55 for NB hmm

22. anonymous

well yah....

23. Nnesha

so 'm pretty sure u're right duahhh

24. Nnesha

ignore me plz ,-,

25. anonymous

Oh ok lol.

26. Nnesha

@mathmate

27. anonymous

thx

28. Nnesha

np ,-,

29. mathmate

Yeah, arc NB is 55 degrees (angle NEB is vertical angle of angle MEA =55 degrees) @OM14forever BUT question asks arc MEB, so the arc must pass through E, so it's the major arc that you need. What do you think it is?

30. Nnesha

$$\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}$$ @OM14forever So... 360-235=125 $$\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}$$ ^

31. mathmate

Oh, you're right, question asks arc MCB, so it is 360-235=115, correct. My apologies!

32. anonymous

Hahahahaha

33. anonymous

But 360-235=125..... Or so I thought

34. Nnesha

thanks @mathmate :=)

35. mathmate

I like the pic! lol

36. Nnesha

ye so you were wrong muahhahahhah :P jk jk

37. Nnesha

^^@OM14forever

38. mathmate

:( But no problem!

39. anonymous

115+235=350..... @mathmate

40. Nnesha

i was kidding so yeah NB =65 55+65+60+65=? and then subtract 360

41. anonymous

I don't get it.....

42. Nnesha

$55+65+60+65\cancel{=}235$

43. anonymous

Actually that equals 245

44. Nnesha

|dw:1440606905435:dw|

45. anonymous

*hides after makes that comment*

46. Nnesha

yes right now subtract 360

47. Nnesha

lol

48. anonymous

But but but 65+65+60 is not 180

49. Nnesha

right

50. Nnesha

|dw:1440607012964:dw| those 3 angles should add up to 180 lol

51. anonymous

|dw:1440607035238:dw|

52. mathmate

arc NB is 55 because angle NEB=angle MEA = 55 degrees (vertical angles)

53. Nnesha

,-,

54. mathmate

@OM14forever Yes, that's another good way to show it!

55. Nnesha

$$\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}$$ @mathmate Oh, you're right, question asks arc MCB, so it is 360-235=115, correct. My apologies! $$\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}$$ lol 360-235 =125

56. anonymous

so the 180+55=35

57. anonymous

^235

58. Nnesha

you said it's equal to 115 s o i thought NB=65

59. anonymous

But I still think it's equal to 125 because 115 doesn't make sense to me.....

60. Nnesha

yes right 360-235=125 not 115 :P :=)

61. mathmate

MY BAD: 360-235=125 I was not thinking!

62. anonymous

That's ok lol. ^.^

63. mathmate

You should take back my medals as punishment! I should be more careful next time! lol

64. anonymous

lol nah

65. mathmate

Nice to work with you both! We finally agree! :)

66. Nnesha

*hides*

67. Nnesha

heheh sorry @OM14forever and thanks mathmate!

68. anonymous

You're hiding?!?!? @Nnesha lol pssshhh I should be hiding lol

69. anonymous

I just challenged/ questioned two people with higher smartscores then me lol

70. Nnesha

oky don't insult meh ;~;

71. anonymous

Sorry if that sounded like an insult. I definitely didn't mean it that way

72. anonymous

And just to clarify.... The answer is 235 or 125?

73. Nnesha

hahah i was kidding highest ss .... doesn't mean i'm smart lol

74. anonymous

Thanks a lot lol. I was feeling bad

75. Nnesha

|dw:1440607918662:dw| length of red arc is greater that the black one :=) :=) don't feel bad thats fine SMILE !|dw:1440608078330:dw|

76. Nnesha

than*

77. mathmate

My bad again! Find the angle of arc MCB, yes, it's just 235, no need to deduct from 360. Guess it's not my best day! lol @Nnesha @OM14forever

78. anonymous

Oh okay. Well you both have given me a laugh today. So thank and have a nice day.

79. Nnesha

yes it's 235 :P

80. mathmate

Have a good to both of you! @Nnesha @OM14forever :)

81. Nnesha

thanks, u2 :=)
