    6.2 * 5 = 31 (Let's not quibble about significant figures for a moment.) -8 + (-2) = -10 And we have 31 * 10^(-10), but that's no good. Adjustment is required. 31 * 10^(-10) = (3.1*10)*10^(-10) = 3.1*10^(-9) Looks like you missed the adjustment part.
