    one approach area of triangle - one and a half times the area of the sector then multiply by 2 symmetrical figure use pythagorean theorem to find the perpendicular height of the triangle equilateral triangle so the angle = 60 degrees radius = 3

    seems long and made a mistake but the approach is find the area of the triangle and subtract the sectors to get area of shaded
