The Mayans' were very religious people with many different Gods and Goddesses that they believed to watch over and protect them and their crops. When they built the temples, the had yet to discover any modern uses for tools, and used crude ones. So, after me telling you this, tell me what you think the answer should be now?

Their temples were not built out of wood. That's one of the reasons the Mayan temples were so amazing and still continue to amaze us today because they were created without the use of modern tools. All Mayan architecture was made from Stone materials.
