    (2x -2)(x +4) = 48 2(x - 1)(x + 4) = 48 (x - 1)(x + 4) = 24 Now open the bracket by applying distributive property...

    Quadratic Formula is given by: \[x = \frac{(-b \pm \sqrt{(b ^{2} - 4ac})}{ 2a } \]

Oh okay was just wondering how a 0 got there instead of 24 being behind the equal sign. So what would be next?

    Now we have factored till (x-4)(x+7)=0 So, either x - 4 = 0 OR x + 7 = 0 The values of x are: x = 4 or x = -7
