    The number of arrangements with the designated card at the left end is 4! The number of arrangements with the designated card at the right end is 4! Therefore the number of arrangements that are not allowed is (4! + 4!). The total number of arrangements with no restrictions is 5!. Therefore the number of arrangements with the designated card not at either end is given by: 5! - (4! + 4!) = you can calculate.
