    167 * 10^14 which is 1.67 * 10^16 1.67 can be rounded off to 1.7 * 10^16 and 1.7 can be rounded off to 2 * 10^16

    first to get the single digit look at the first 2 digits which are 16 - correct to i digit that is 2 then you count the number of digits after the 1 and that value is the exponent of 10
