Evaluate the following expression using the values given: Find x3 - 2y2 - 3x3 + z4 if x = 3, y = 5, and z = -3

    just a matter of subbing... x^3 - 2y^2 - 3x^3 + z^4.......x = 3,y = 5, z = -3 3^3 - 2(5^2) - 3(3^3) + -3^4 = can you do the math and finish ?

    so its 27 - 50 - 81 + -81

    yes...if it makes it easier, write it like this.. 27 - 50 - 81 - 81....do that and you will get you final answer

    same way... 2x^2 - 2z^4 + y^2 - x^2 + z^4....x = -4, y = 3, z = 2 sub 2(-4^2) - 2(2^4) + 3^2 -(-4^2) + 2^4.....you got to be very careful with your signs now, you take it from here....I will stay and check your work. If you have any questions at all, just ask. Take as long as you need.

    now there is several things that cancel out here.....like the 2(16) and the -2(16) and the -16 and the + 16......leaving you with just 9 as your answer.
