when i add or subtract polynomials, the degree adding together too? ex: 5X^3-2X^2+7X^2, the degree staying 3 or 2? or we add them?

    polynomials can be classified by the degree or by the number of terms

    in summary and to give a more specific answer no you do not add the degrees reclassify your final polynomial after doing the computation with like terms
