    That's why liquid and gases flow unlike solids. Because due to attractions the solids are held together. liquid has some amount of attractions too that's why it is different from gases

    Ice, water, and steam are all different phases of water held together by attractive forces. Just imagine hitting an ice cube with your hand, sloshing your hand through water, or waving your hand through some steam to determine which is stronger. You can also just look at water holding itself together when it beads up.
