Introduction- Movies or motion pictures are stories or events recorded by a camera as a set of moving images and are shown in a theater or on television. In the 1890s films were known as moving pictures, and they “..emphasized just movement. There was no sound, usually no plot and no story.” (The history of motion picture) Although today movies are more elaborate with special effects, fantastic actors and an astonishing story line.
How is that for an introduction and thesis statement??
Id like to add in a scene from one or two of the movies
Yes I find your thesis and introduction really good. I think your on the right track continue.
Yes thank you.. Ive been waiting for @Ashleyisakitty to come online. She said yesterday she would look over it
@Destinyyyy In regard to your ACTUAL question, I think your on the right track and have a solid introduction and all. I would say keep going.
@myininaya Could I get your opinion on my essay?
Oh okay. Thank you though
Thats a pretty good introduction. But what is the thesis? It is not very apparent. I would also edit the last sentence and some punctuation to something like this: "Movies or motion pictures are stories or events recorded by a camera as a set of moving images and are shown in a theater or on television. In the 1890s, films were known as 'moving pictures', and they “..emphasized just movement. There was no sound, usually no plot and no story.” (The history of motion picture). Modern movies are more elaborate with special effects, fantastic actors, and an astonishing story line." Also, to go back to the main question of the research paper, "Why do people like past-culture films? -- I also believe people are intrigued because the culture is so vastly different than the one we live in today in these Greek/Roman history films. The sexism, violence, etc, really draws people in. Make sure to use MLA format when you are sourcing.
I have a more recent posting of this essay done in a new question. I forgot to tag you. Sorry. Ill do it now.
I had the whole essay posted on this question 2 hours ago but removed it. It should be all on order just have to put it in mla format and possibly add in a few things. If you would be willing to look it over I would appreciate it. Thank you.
