Please help! Use Cramer's rule to solve the following system of equations. Enter your answer as an ordered pair, like this example: (2, -4).

    x - 2y = -9 3x + y = 1 answer col. determinant form D = | 1 -2 | | -9| ! 3 1 | | 1| determinant with answer cols. in x Dx = | -9 -2 | | 1 1 | evaluating the determinant we get D = 1 - (-2*3) = 1 + 6 = 7 Dx = -9 - (-2) = -7 so by Cramer's rule x = Dx / D = -7/7 = -1

    To find the value of y first write out Dy by replacing the second column of D by the answer column . Then evaluate y in a similar fashion to the above.
