explain how you can use a straightedge and a compass to construct and angle that is both congruent and adjacent to a given angle?

    you would use the straightedge to draw the arms right and then use the compass to draw the angle?

    Let X be the given angle. With the compass point at A, draw a large arc as shown cutting the line at C Then place the compass point at C and draw a small arc through D Then keeping the compass point at C draw a similar small arc at E Join A to E with the straight edge The required angle is X'.
