Factor 72 using a factor tree, then for any "pairs" of numbers you come up with, cross one number out and then multiply the remaining ones. So for 72, you'll end up with a pair of twos and a pair of threes. You will cross out one 2 and one 3 and multiply the others (2x3=6) and then leave the remaining 2 under the house. So 6sqrt2 is your answer.
