x^3 - 2y^2 - 3x^3 + z^4 ---- x = 3, y = 5, z = -3 now we sub 3^3 - 2(5^2) - 3(3^3) + (-3^4) can you do the math now ?

3. anonymous

-185

4. texaschic101

27 - 2(25) - 3(27) + 81 27 - 50 - 81 - 81 -212 + 27 -185 thats what I got

5. texaschic101

oops..made a mistake on first line...supposed to be -81

6. anonymous

yep

7. texaschic101

8. anonymous

so it is -185

9. texaschic101

yes

10. anonymous

i got it wrong

11. texaschic101

hold on...let me check again 3^3 - 2(5^2) - 3(27) + 81 ---- it is + 81 because -3^4 = -3*-3*-3*-3 = 81 27 - 50 - 81 + 81 - 23 (the 81's cancel each other out)

12. texaschic101

I am so sorry about that

13. anonymous

can i ask you another question
