    for the first one Add up all the numbers and divide by 7 to get the mean for the median arrange them in ascending order. The median will be the middle value ( in this case the 4th value)

    yea well we need to keep the median and the mean equal to 7 This will give us a total of 8 numbers and the only way to make the mean and median equal is to add another 7

    if there is an total of numbers the median is the mean of the 'middle two'.

    if you add up the 8 numbers it gives 56 so mean = 56/8 = 7

    for the third one If we add an extra number at the end it makes the median 8 - because the middle 2 values will now be 7 and 9 - do you see that?
