i cant draw a graph for my question i have to describe it

- welshfella

I haven't got enough time to help you with all this
Remember the median is the middle value
mean = sum of all the values divided by 7

and the range = highest value - lowest

- Howard-Wolowitz

so would you suggest I put that all values are the same?

- Howard-Wolowitz

guys, each time i do it i draw graphs but i wouldnt know how to put them into the words for the answer

- welshfella

the median is the same for all three
- check out the middle value

- Howard-Wolowitz

i see its 11

- welshfella

right Have have you worked out each of the mean's?

- Howard-Wolowitz

no i was trying to figure out what standard deviation was

- Howard-Wolowitz

i do it now

- Howard-Wolowitz

A: 11 mean
B: 11 mean
C:11 mean

- Howard-Wolowitz

So, thats something thats similar

- welshfella

|dw:1441813625332:dw|

- Howard-Wolowitz

oh, and the median is the same for all three

- welshfella

right
the above histogram is for the list C and gives an idea of the distribution of the numbers

- welshfella

yes mean and median are the same

- welshfella

and also the range is the same 17 - 5 = 12 in each case

- Howard-Wolowitz

oh i missed that

- welshfella

you can draw similar histograms for A and B to show the difference in distribution of the values

- welshfella

the standard deviation is a bit more complicated
do you know how to work that out?
its values gives an idea of the spread of data within the data set.

- Howard-Wolowitz

For the standard deviation of "A" I got 4.3

- Howard-Wolowitz

For the standard deviation for "B" I got 5

- Howard-Wolowitz

For the standard deviation for "C" I got 6

- welshfella

yes that figures
the spread is not that much different but because of the 3 5's and 3 17's in C it will be greater that A or B.

- Howard-Wolowitz

So, my final answer answer is gonna be:
For all three, mean, median and range are the same but standard deviation is different in all three.

- welshfella

yea

- welshfella

- well say std dev for C is greater than B and B greater than A.

- Howard-Wolowitz

ok gotcha

- welshfella

good
