    Combine like terms, then simplify. \[ x = 1.8 + 0.25\] Sorry for the double post.

    When moving something over the equal since you usually switch the operand to positive, or negative. (If it was +2, and you move it over the equal sign, it becomes -2, and if you have, -3 and move it over the equal sign, it becomes +3.)
