follow PEMDAS/PEDMAS start by evaluating what's in parentheses nothing there so we go to the exponents and evaluate \((-4)^2\) first

PEMDAS - parentheses exponents multiplication/division addition/subtraction remember that this goes from left to right step 1, evaluate (-4)^2=16 now we have \(-12\div3*(-8+16-6)+2\) we're done with exponents step 2: finish evaluating what's in the parentheses. \(-12\div3*(2)+2\) now we're done with the P and E in pemdas step 3: divide first because it comes first going left to right \(-12\div3=-4\) \(4*(2)+2\) step 4: multiply \(8+2\) step 5: add 10
