1. anonymous

what problem ?

2. anonymous

$(x^{15}y ^{5})^{\frac{ 3 }{ 5 }}$

3. anonymous

Simplify.

4. anonymous

@phi can you help?

5. phi

the easiest way is to multiply 3/5 times each of the exponents inside the parens (the exponents are the small numbers in the upper right) to get new exponents

6. anonymous

I know what exponents are lol so $x ^{9}y ^{3}$?

7. phi

3/5 * 15 = 3*3 = 9 and 3/5 * 5 = 3*1 = 3 yes you got it
