A white-tailed deer can sprint at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. American bison can run at speeds up to 3,520 feet per minute. Which animal is faster and by how many miles per hour? There are 5,280 feet in one mile.

Well there's 60 minutes in an hour, if the bison can run up to 3520 feet per minute, in an hour it should be able to run 60 times that, therefore 211200 feet per hour. 1 mile is 5280 feet therefore if you divide 211200 feet per hour by 5280, you get 40 miles per hour. 40 mph is greater than 30mph therefore the bison is faster (by 10 mph).
