Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1when multiplying , if the signs are different, then it is negative.....if the signs are the same, it is positive. 5.3 14.2 = 8.9 A. 5.3 + (14.2) you have a positive times a neg.....since the signs are different, it changes to a neg. Making the problem 5.3 14.2.....it is equal to the expression. B. 5.3 + 14.2 not the same C. 14.2 + (5.3) signs are different, so it becomes neg. Making the problem : 14.2 5.3....not the same D. 14.2 (5.3)......signs are the same, so it becomes positive. Making the problem : 14.2 + 5.3 = 8.9.....same questions ?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1It is important to learn the rules about multiplying/dividing with the signs. Your gonna have more of this stuff. But do not get the rules about multiplying/dividing with signs confused with adding/subtracting with signs....the rules are not the same
