    \[x=26.666...\] 10x=266.666.... subtract 10x-x=266.666....-26.666.......=240 9x=240 x=240/9=80/3 \[\sqrt{48}=\sqrt{16 \times 3}=4\sqrt{3}\] which is irrational.
