I got 5km 53.1º but it says 36.86º on the answer sheet. What did I do wrong? A hiker leaves camp, and using a compass, walks 4km East, 6km South, 3km East, 5km North, 10km West, 8km North, and 3km South. At the end of 3 days, the hiker is totally lost. By drawing a vector diagram, compute how far the hiker is from camp, and which direction he should take to get back to camp.

You have calculated magnitude correct but the angle will be \(\sf tan^{-1} (\frac{3}{4})=36.86\)
