Hello I need help with a quadratic formula

    It asks what the smaller root is and what the larger root is! And I am not sure what it means by that.

    Start by simplifying under the radical. Once you do, the two solutions come from the ± sign. Add to get one and subtract for the other

    I got -2 for one of them
