    let the number of months it takes be x in one month hair grows 1/4 inch so in x months it will grow x(1/4) inches and we knw that in x months the hair will grow 5/8 inches so x(1/4)=5/8 multiply both sides by 4 u get- x=5/2 so the number of months required=2.5
